Your journey begins in Dhaka, the vibrant capital where centuries-old history exists alongside modern city life. After meeting your guide, you’ll explore some of the city’s most meaningful landmarks, including the exterior view of the National Parliament area, Dhakeshwari Temple, Lalbagh Fort, Star Mosque, Armenian Church, and Ahsan Manzil, the famous Pink Palace.
Each stop reveals a different chapter of Dhaka’s story, from Mughal-era architecture and religious heritage to the trading history of old Bengal. Your guide will help you see the city beyond the usual sightseeing.
In the late afternoon, you’ll head towards Sadarghat, Dhaka’s historic river port. The atmosphere here changes constantly. Boats arrive and leave, passengers move between vessels, and the river becomes a busy stage of everyday life.
As the sun begins to set, enjoy a peaceful boat ride on the Buriganga River before boarding your overnight river transport. Depending on the operating schedule, you'll take either the historic Rocket Steamer or a comfortable overnight ferry.
Spend the evening watching the river landscape change as Dhaka slowly disappears behind you. Enjoy dinner onboard and rest in your cabin as you travel through the waterways toward southern Bangladesh.

After the overnight river journey, continue towards the southern heritage region. Before exploring Bagerhat, make a stop at Kodla Moth (Ayodhya Math), a quiet historical landmark surrounded by rural Bengal scenery. This visit adds another layer to the journey by introducing travelers to the region's architectural heritage.
Continue to the historic Mosque City of Bagerhat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the famous Sixty Dome Mosque and other heritage locations connected with Khan Jahan Ali. Your guide will tell the story of this river-based settlement and its importance in Bengal’s history.

Depending on the season, you may experience floating markets where farmers and traders arrive by boat carrying fresh produce. The journey also offers opportunities to observe riverside villages, local markets, and traditional activities connected with delta life.

In the afternoon, continue to Baitul Aman Jame Mosque (Guthia Mosque), a notable cultural landmark in the Barisal region. Enjoy the peaceful surroundings and admire the mosque complex before returning to Barisal.

Your second day in the backwater offers another view of life along the rivers. After an early start, travel through smaller canals and rural waterways towards areas known for seasonal guava cultivation. During July to September, the orchards are especially lively, with local farmers bringing fresh harvests to nearby markets.

Continue to riverside timber yards and sawmills, where the river plays an important role in transporting and processing wood. This offers a fascinating look at a side of Bangladesh most travelers never encounter.
If conditions allow, you may also visit a local school to see everyday village education. These visits are arranged respectfully and depend on school schedules and local availability.

Later, return to Barisal to rest before beginning your overnight journey back to Dhaka. Board the ferry or Rocket Steamer (subject to operation) and enjoy another evening traveling through Bangladesh’s waterways.

Arrive in Dhaka in the morning and continue towards Sonargaon, one of Bengal’s historic centers of trade, culture, and craftsmanship. Your final day begins with a visit to a Jamdani weaving village, where skilled artisans create delicate patterns using traditional handloom techniques. Watching the careful work behind each piece offers a deeper understanding of one of Bangladesh’s most respected crafts.

Continue to the Folk Arts and Crafts Museum to learn more about Bengali traditions, then visit the historic Goaldi Mosque, an example of early Bengal Islamic architecture. The final highlight is Panam City, where old merchant houses line a quiet historic street.
